At Gulf Coast Veterinary Center, we offer extensive counseling on allergy management, from food and the environment to flea allergies. We’ll examine and test your pet, and based on the diagnosis, we’ll provide you with treatment options that offer relief for your animal friend. Our allergy testing and hypoallergenic treatment are performed in house, and we work closely with board-certified dermatologists when necessary.

Symptoms of skin problems in pets include:

• Excessive scratching, chewing or licking
• Rashes
• Lesions
• Irritated or dry skin
• Scabs
• Red or inflamed skin
• Hair loss
• Rubbing of face against furniture or carpets

Treatment options vary depending on the cause, and while some are simple to resolve, others can be complex. Sometimes a topical cream does the trick, while others may require a combination of medications and lifestyle changes. Whatever the diagnosis, we’ll work with you to develop a custom plan that meets your pet’s needs.
